My Story
Unveiling Purpose
In my early twenties, I had these grand ideas of becoming an international lawyer. Fresh out of college with my degree in international relations, I was all set to conquer the legal world. But life had other plans. During grad school, I wanted to pave my path working for a lawyer. The hours were killer, and I found myself questioning if law school was really my thing. Then, the lawyer asked me to step into a director role at their real estate company. Little did I know, that move would change everything for me.
Those years were a whirlwind of business—from crunching numbers to building brands. But here’s the kicker: no matter how good I was, my gender and skin color seemed to overshadow everything. It was the same old story, no matter where I worked. The pay gap, the way I was treated—it was all there, staring me in the face.
Then came that moment of reckoning. I hit this wall where I realized I was on the verge of a mental breakdown. Years of dealing with racism and sexism had chipped away at my confidence, leaving me feeling pretty low. But you know what they say about hitting rock bottom? It’s a solid foundation to build back up from. So, I dove into figuring out how to rebuild my confidence. My journey was loaded with research, therapy, coaching, and strengthening my relationship with God. As a result of this, I built a six-figure business and became a certified confidence coach to help others navigate the same rough waters I did.
These days, I’m all about paying it forward. As a full-time entrepreneur, I run IconiQ, a branding agency that’s all about serving purpose-driven leaders. But it’s not just about the hustle—I’m also knee-deep in projects that give back to the communities I care about.
When I’m not diving into business, you’ll find me behind the mic hosting my podcast, FaithFueled. It’s my little corner of the internet where I get to connect my biblical insights to entrepreneurship. You might also find me exploring a new corner of the world or whipping up some magic in the kitchen.
